BNP chairman candidate shot in Gaibandha

RTNN News Desk: A BNP-backed chairman candidate of Erendabari union was shot and injured by a group of miscreants at Dakatier Char in Fulchhari upazila early on Friday.

The Fulchhari police Officer-in-charge Khairul Basahr said a group of miscreants stormed the house of BNP-backed chairman candidate Azizur Rahman and shot at him through the window while he was sleeping at about 3:00am, leaving him injured in a leg.

Hearing screams, local people went to the spot and caught four of them and handed them over to Border Guard of Bangladesh (BGB) members.

The injured BNP candidate was rushed to Mymensingh Medical College Hospital.
