Raw jute export banned

03 December,2015

RTNN News Desk: The government has banned the export of all kinds of raw jute for an indefinite period to ensure the mandatory use of jute bags for commodities.

According to an order of the textile and jute ministry on Thursday, the export of all sorts of jute will remain banned until any new notice is used.

Earlier, on November 3, the government gave a direction to stop raw jute export for a month to ensure supply of raw jute to jute mills in the country.

The jute mills owners have been demanding to ban raw jute export, saying the low amount of production.

The textile and jute ministry views that huge amount of raw jute would be required for mandatory use of jute bags from December.
