7 including 3 of a family killed in separate road accidents

RTNN News Desk: At least seven people including a mother and her two children were killed in separate road accidents on Saturday morning.

In Narayanganj, a mother and her two children were killed as a covered van hit them while they were standing at the roadside.

The accident took place at around 9.00am in Doudkandi area.

The deceased were mother Hena Akhter (35), her daughter Tania Akhter (13) and son Sani Hossain (10).

In Habiganj, at least two expatriates were killed and 35 other injured in a road accident in district’s Bahubal upazila early Saturday.

Local source said that a Sylhet-bound passenger bus named ‘Shyamoli Paribahan’ was returning from Shajalal International Airport in Dhaka with at least 30-35 passengers, who just returned from abroad. The bus collided with a stone-laden truck and a microbus coming from opposite direction in Hafizpur area, leaving the casualties.

The deceased could not be identified immediately.

On information, Shayestaganj Highway Thana Police recovered the bodies and sent those to Thana.

In Barisal, at least two passers-by were crushed under wheels of truck in the district on Saturday morning.

The accident took place at around 8.00am in Mahilara area of Dhaka-Barisal highway.

The deceased were identified as Kalam Molla (35) and Salauddin Bapari (40).

According to sources, a truck hit a roadside tree as the driver lost its control over it, leaving the casualties.
